Guys you may have noticed that I haven’t made any update here for quite a long time now. It’s because I’ve been very busy creating number of websites and web multimedia. Though I couldn’t say goodbye to CG and digital painting yet, (it is where my true passion lies) I really have to divert my attention and learn to adopt with the climate..specially during this hard economic times.. What I mean is that recently I noticed there’s a lot more demand for me and better opportunity to earn steady cash in web and multimedia.. After I finished my last batch of digital painting projects late last year, I try to join different web design and MM competitions which I won several and earn few bucks for just a couple of months ..and it didn’t stop there yet, Some very nice people start contacting me not a long time ago and ask if I can do some extra projects for them…Well that’s it! I said.. making websites in 2009 starts for me in a very pleasant mood and so I realize that it is my duty to keep learning and enhance my skills on this field. Here are some snapshots of what I have accomplished from November last year up to date ( these are just few of them, a lot more will I upload in the gallery once I get breather ).. Just click on the thumbnails to open a bigger picture. Thanks!..and oh wait I also have some T-shirt designs coming !..Please stay tuned! The challenge was to create an ancient warrior character. So here I made a big guy from where I imagined him as a tough war leader of an old Assyrian Empire. Lately I have been doing several exercises on human anatomy. so when i heard about this challenge which involves sketching human figure, I instantly jumped in and start making my warrior entry. I had a lot fun doing this illustration, from rough sketching to defining the value up to the painting in the color, I really dig the experience. So I was really happy when I heard that it won the third place in the challenge. I will soon be posting tutorials (think I rather should say "how tos" ) here on my site. Dedicated to people who are interested in learning digital painting. I will gladly be sharing some of my techniques I used to arrive on a drawing similar to the look of this Ancient Devil Warrior. |

August has been another busy month for me. It is peak season for designing and making new arts for my regular clients. But then, thank God I managed to endure some sleepless night to finish an entry for The Super Villain Contest in conceptart.org and this time I win 3rd. The contest was about creating an illustration or concept of your own super villain, and so this was my entry to the competition. " The Wraith Goblin", done entirely in photoshop, took me about an accumulated time of 48 hrs to finish. Click on the drawing to view the small gif step by step progress and a bigger resolution of the art work. Please watch for the 2Dartists October issue as they will be featuring my detailed "How to" article on the challenge page. Many many thanks to Miss Lynette and the sponsors, oh yeah! I cant wait to have my hands on that Digital Arts Masters vol.3 book. |

Almost a month ago, an art contest about stylized spaceship was held in conceptart.org website and sponsored by Zoopublishing. I am very pleased to anounce that my entry Carrot Spaceship wins the contest 1st Place. As part of the prize, they sent me a DVD tutorial for 3Dmax and a complimentary copy of Digital Arts Masters vol.2 ( it was hard bound! yeahh!) . I am also excited that they will be featuring my "How To" article on the September issue of their monthly 2Dartists magazine. Glad to know that they are allowing me to make a link or wrap the article here on my website . I might start to put another category here where I can start dumping all my "how to's" and mini tutorials.

Last year my character drawing Blaster Mega was included in the book Exotique 3. I am very thankful to Ballistic Publishing for the opportunity to have it published together with number of awesome artists , including those that I really admired. BallisticPublishing is a notable company that publishes good books about cg art . You can visit their website here |

A personal project, this painting is about a flower fairy. There are two main reasons why I did this painting..first, because i wanted to try and test a video capturing software, you can see full video here...second, to discover how my recently made brushes in photoshop work, also part of my main interest here is improving my painting skill focusing on the details of the eyes.

This client is based in USA, they make fantasy and fiction board games and not long ago they asked me to do a series of illustrations for them. The project was comprised of concept arts for some new characters, weapons and magic items.
Definitely one of my favorite gig. If given a chance, I would like to do more of this kind of project.
Check them out in the gallery section. |

One day I was browsing on some collections of Bouguereau and I was so inspired by him that I have to do something similar.. Ive always been amazed by the painting techniques used by the old masters, specialy those in the rennaisance periode. So I gather my self and sat on my pc table . This However of course I can only do in virtual method by using my wacom tablet and Photoshop (pixelated, but at least less messy ..hehe). My apologies if I screw on some details, I didnt have a formal training with atelliers and master painters, infact this is my first try to do this kind of painting, just my humble attempt to copy the old master's technique. You can see my step by step video here. |
